This is a copyediting and proofreading service for authors of romance and women’s fiction, including all subgenres except erotica. Both are included in the service because the two mesh so closely together. This service does not include developmental editing, such as analyzing story arc, plot, voice, and character development. Copyediting does not address plot and character development.

COPY EDITING
Copyediting, sometimes called line editing, is close to proofreading but goes a step beyond.
I will point out problems and suggest changes.
PROOFREADING
Covers the basics.
Comments and suggested changes are made using Track Changes.
Query me at shvaughan.author AT gmail DOT com. Tell me the length and subgenre of your manuscript. Please attach a sample of your work as follows: the first 10 pages of your book or novella as a Word doc or docx. You can also request a pdf of this page.
You will receive a reply within 24-48 hours. If we are to proceed, I will send you an official work agreement, with further instructions, to sign and return to me.
Payment in full is expected at the same time you send me your manuscript. At that time, please also send also a one-page description of the conflicts and a list of the major plot points to assist me in following the narrative. This is not a synopsis you would use as a selling tool to an editor.
Fees are based on computer word count + PayPal fee. Files sent should adhere to the industry standard of a double-spaced manuscript with 1-inch margins, using Times New Roman or Courier New, size 12 font.
Payment is made only through PayPal in U.S. dollars. Details will be in the official work agreement.
