​Meet the Author

​Susan Vaughan loves writing stories--wherever her imagination takes her, whether Christmas legends or pirate treasure or romantic mysteries. She taught in public schools for many years, twenty-five of them in Midcoast Maine, where she lives. She is the author of sixteen novels and two children's books, Sleigh Magic and Stowaways: a Maine Pirate Tale.

and the Illustrator

Thomas Brooks is an illustrator specializing in children's books and nature. He works in a
variety of media to bring diverse characters to life, from birds to sea monsters,
elves, and pirates. He currently lives in Massachusetts with two reptiles, a dog, and a human.
